The Schneider Electric announced the creation of the program Schneider Electric Ventures, which identifies, promotes and supports innovation that can contribute to sustainability and energy efficiency in the future.
The company commits to invest between 300 and 500 million euros in the next years in incubation projects, partnerships with entrepreneurs and specialized funds. There are already initiatives underway and others ready for implementation.
Innovation as key to sustainable growth
Innovation is an essential precursor to sustainable growth. In addition to the need to find solutions that protect the environment, companies must meet the inexhaustible demand for energy, adapt their equipment to a hyperconnected industrial ecosystem and meet the criteria of increasingly demanding regulation.
Schneider Electric Ventures
The mission of this initiative is to identify, promote and support companies and entrepreneurs whose innovations can transform the way we live and work, how we produce and consume energy, and how we manage buildings and factories.
The initiative supports innovation through funding, incubation and partnerships. Some projects are already underway:
eIQ Mobility
Start-up and spinoff from the Schneider Electric Incubator that facilitates and accelerates electric mobility in scale by proposing “as-service electric fleets” for large commercial fleets.
Clipsal Solar
Commercial enterprise offering on-grid and off-grid solutions for residential and commercial applications in Australia. About 1.8 million homeowners have already installed solar panels to aid in the management of light bills. Market forecasts indicate that there will be an additional 134,000 homes by 2021.
Greentown Labs Bold Ideas Challenge
In partnership with Greentown Labs, focused on supporting the development of entrepreneurs through the provision of mentors, team members, $25,000 grants and technical and business resources needed to launch successful projects.
