The fans are excited for the long awaited “Sunrise in Heaven” movie starring Caylee Cowan, Travis Burns, Corbin Bernsen, Dee Wallace, Erin Bethea, and Jenn Gotzon Chandler

“Sunrise in Heaven” movie trailers have just been released and the film is set for VOD screens April 9th, 2019. Based on the novel, His Sunrise My Sunset, the movie recounts the life and times of Jan Hurst. The film is directed by Waymon Boone and cast by Lindsay Chag who discovered Caylee Cowan off a self-tape and urged the director to read the talented new-comer alongside seasoned actors Corbin Bernsen, Dee Wallace, and Travis Burns

Caylee plays the pivotal role of young Jan Hurst and shares screen time with actress Bonnie Burroughs who plays adult Jan Hurst. This is Caylee Cowan’s first film role and screen debut. While her costar Travis burns is best known for his role as Tyler Brennan in the long-running television soap opera Neighbours, from 2015 to 2018.

She says in an interview, “I’m the kind of actor that likes to do a lot of background work, a lot of rehearsing, and a lot of takes. With this movie we had 11 days to film and I was there for 6 of them. Some days, I only got 3 takes to get a scene right. Meaning one close up on me, one on my scene partner, and a long shot. We also shot on the Fourth of July with fireworks going off. I’m sure that wasn’t an easy task in the editing room.”

When asked about the background work she did for her character she says, “I read the book. I made a playlist of music from 1960 to 1964, which we actually played in the hair and makeup trailer nonstop. One song that was stuck in everyone head was that one that goes, ‘I’m goin’ to the chapel and I’m gonna get married’ I think it’s the Dixie Chicks?” She’s right, It is. “I also took Jan Hurst and her Grand-daughter Darby Goodman out for lunch at my favorite spot in LA, the Chateau Marmont.”

Sometimes actors and actresses don’t like to meet the person they’re going to play on screen prior to filming. Such is the case with Margot Robbie in “I, Tonya” movie. Caylee feels differently. “Well, Margot had a lot of footage to study Tonya Harding from. I didn’t have much for Jan. She wasn’t a high profile person. Plus, this project is all about Jan. It’s an homage to her and Steve. I wanted to pay my respects to her for allowing me to tell her story.”

When asked about if she liked the trailer and how she thinks it will perform with audiences she had to say this, “I’m not concerned with result at this point. I just care about doing the character justice and serving the story. I did that. It’s a process and it takes a lot of people to make a movie. They might be using my face and voice, but I’m actually a canvas for the work of the hair and makeup department, the script writer, the director, and wardrobe. I just want all those people to enjoy the process of making a movie with me. To me, that’s a successful movie.”

She then goes on to say that, “Every time a movie gets made it’s a miracle.”

Written by Dan Benamor, “Sunrise In Heaven” was produced by Dureyshevar, Nat Mundel, Jack Nasser, Jacob Nasser and Joseph Nasser. It launches April 9th 2019, and will be available through Walmart, Amazon, Lifeway, iTunes, Google Play, VUDU and On Demand via local cable providers.
